Mike, sorry about the confusion regarding your earlier post. I'll download the
file and see if I can figure anything out. Remember, with the PC, there are so
many possible configurations out there that debugging a particular problem
requires a fair amount of patience.
Your path consists of X number of units. If you tell an object to follow that
path, the program divides that total number of units per the total number of
frames to calculate a constant speed for the object to travel. In other words,
distance divided by frames = rate of speed.
The acceleration/deceleration commands can only modify speed given the
aforementioned parameters. Assuming you have a path of 1000 units in length
and a 20 frame animation, the constant traveling speed would be 50. If you
tell the object to begin at rest (0) and end at a complete stop (0), the
program must now compensate and the object will be traveling at a much higher
rate of speed at the animation's midpoint (frame 10).
If you only wish the object to complete half the trip in a 20 frame animation,
one option is to set up the animation as a 40 frame scene and only render
frames 1 to 20.
Hope this helps. –Rick Rodriguez
