Makes you wonder why they didn't go with a newer Motorola chip. But then, CBM makes the 8520s themselves, so I suppose it's cheaper. It's been a while since I've done any hardware hacking, and then it was Z80s, but I believe that 1/10 clock is the E line. If it is the CPU clock divided down, wouldn't a 25 mHz 3000 have a 2.5 mHz E? I could see accellerated 2000's keeping the 1 meg (730kHz?) from the motherboard 68000. The E line does go into the processor slot though, so I could see an accellerator card overriding the motherboard processor. Depends on whether the E goes tristate when the CPU is halted. I couldn't find that in my 68000 hardware book. I'm curious now, time to get out the 'scope. 🙂 Anyway, the main reason I suggested using the paralell to scsi adapters from clones is that it's an off-the-shelf item. Someone wouldn't need to deal with the Feds. Perhaps it would be best to just wait for PCMCIA scsi cards to appear. That slot certainly isn't much use for RAM… Jim
