Carmen Soft/CD/Hi Memory
I recently purchased the texel dm3024, future domain 850m, and pro audio 16
sound card. if I load the fd driver, and pro audio driver high with qemm
6.0 carmen seems to hang occasionally. I could not load mscdex (sp?) high
at all, the drive was not recognized. with all three loaded low, carmen
seems to work ok, although still occasionally hangs but the right mouse
button clicked seems to get it going again. has anyone got these loaded
high and sucessfully running carmen deluxe cd. I have 4mb ram, and an amd
386-40 chip, dos 5.
2nd question, after initial install could not get anything to install on
the texel cd. HDI tech support had me go into my AMI bios advanced chip set
settings and turn Hidden refresh off, this did the trick. are there any
other adv chip options for ami bios that are recommended to be changed for
this type of multimedia setup? any comments on why this worked? thanks for
all input, this is my first cd install although very familiar with pc's
otherwise. as if I didnt get enough at the office, I had to get something
for the kids for christmas.
