Barbara, since we who live in the Amiga world pride ourselves in being different, how about an article on offbeat hardware, possibly available only on the Amiga? An example is the 3-D glasses which don't need a computer to work (just use any VCR), being marketed by the maker of Fractal Pro. (His name eludes me; it resembles Dr. Daniel Holt) Wouldn't any 3-D devotee salivate at the prospect of showing off her animations, _in three dimensions_, to anyone by just bringing the glasses and a videotape? How about a Mandala update? The Very Vivid group has purposely been keeping a low profile these past few years, but Mandala is still very much alive and all the rage at Cyber-events around the world. I'm sure you've seen extravaganzas where animations and text are painted into thin air by a computer-controlled laser. Ever wonder _what_ computer drives them? Why, the Amiga, of course. Its stereo sound output controls the beam's horizontal and vertical deflection, taking wonderful advantage of the sound chip's DMA. The Amiga can animate a laser beam without asking its CPU do lift a finger! This already has the makings of a wonderful article, don't you think? Blaq!
