Do you mean the time to make the whole cycle, edit to edit? If so, my
Nucleus (old)/Pana AG7750 takes about 35 seconds with a 10 second pre-roll
time. I used a BVU 850 (I think) at the local PBS station, and it took
about 20 seconds to cycle with a 4 second pre-roll.
Check the pre-roll times and see if they're set right. Remember that the
deck must not only play this long, but must also rewind further to get
there, too. You can trim them back a little, but if you start getting
errors, you've gone too far.
I usually do paperwork or other non-computer stuff (like sleep!) during
this time, so I leave my settings long. This ensures that the deck ALWAYS
has time to get up to speed, and I've NEVER had a bad frame due to not
syncing in the 12K or so that I've done.
