I re-read your original message thread, and I wanted to tell you about
LOOM, by Lucas Arts. An EXCELLENT CD-ROM game, great game for your 11
year old! I read a review put out by RIP (Jan Swank), where the
reviewer played the game with his 10 and 11 year old daughters. It
really brought the family together!
By all means, get LOOM. It is a fairy tale adventure written with the
help of genius science fiction writer Orson Scott Card. The superb
sound and actors voices comes through the phono plug on the front of
the cd rom drive, not through the cheesy sound card. I played with
headphones plugged into the drive. AWESOME sound. In fact, the
whole purpose of the game is to play 4-note musical "drafts" in the
proper sequence to perform "magical" acts.
You'll love it, judging by your original message regarding playing
Sierra type adventure games.
I had a copy, but I already sold it on CI$.
