#MPC Compatibilty
Hello, I have a problem with my dealer I think he is trying to con me.
I've been using the SONY CDU 535 for the past couple of months, and now
want to upgrade to the 31-A so that I can read multisession PHOTO CDs. My
dealer is trying to sell me a package with SOUNDCOMMANDER as the CD-ROM
controller, I spoke to Sony and they said that they can't guarantee that
it will work with Kodak, since it is not THEIR controller. The Sony
representative told me that I could buy a package called THE DESKTOP
LIBRARY, that has everything I need to be able to run Kodak Cds.
I told my dealer this, and he says that with the DESKTOP LIBRARY
configuartion will not be MPC compatible since my CD-ROM isn't using the
SOUND CARD as a CONTROLLER.
Could someone please tell me whether it matters (in terms of MPC
compatibility) if the SOUND CARD is used as a controller by the CD-ROM or
could I just use THE DESKTOP LIBRARY controller and the SoundBlaster that
I own right now seperatley and still have a MPC compatible system?
