Fr: Jim Ito To: All I am planning to purchase a CD ROM drive in the near future. Am looking at the multi-spin drives, with the higher throughput and access times. Up to now, I was aware of only the NEC CDR84I and the Talon drives. While reading the messages on the CD ROM forum, I found out about the Toshiba TX3401 drive. Are there any others out there? And do you know what the "Street Prices" are? I also have been reading about people having problems reading data CD's (non-ISO,non-High Sierra). Is this a problem with outdated drivers shipped with the drives, or are the drives not aompatible with the format that these CD's are published in? Am I correct in assuming that the drivers for these drives need to be loaded in CONFIG.SYS? Does anyone recommend a particular drive? Dealers? Prices? Thanks!!o
