To read a SyQuest on both a PC and an Amiga, first format the SyQuest on a PC, (I have succesfully used Future Domain model 1670/1680 SCSI controllers for the PC) then move the cart to the Amiga and run CrossDOS Install. It will make a moutlist for it and away you go! VERY simple and straight forward. I have a 360 meg SCSI harddrive on an A/B cross switch* between my A2500 and my 386/40. After booting the PC, I switch the drive to the Amiga and move files quick and easy. One trick though, I found the PC couldn't handle files being changed on the 360 meg by the Amiga unless I fooled the Future Domain controller into reporting the 360meg drive as removable media. Once I did that, the FAT was re-read before each drive access on the PC and changes to the FAT were noted. Before I did that I REALLY trashed the drive about 3 or 4 times. *Do NOT use a standard A/B switch, but rather a CROSS switch that has 4 jacks and swaps the bottom 2. Place the drive on one jack and a SCSI terminator on the other to keep each SCSI card with the proper termination. Oh yeah.. and keep the cables as SHORT as possible, I ran into some SCSI lockups when I ran 2 15' cables in series that way. —Flying BLIND with AutoPilot
