Andrew: Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was away this week on business. In any case, I loaded up AFT once more and ran through the questions you e-mailed. First…..the tree is only in the "tens" of people. Second……all entries were typed. Third ….I used "exec" and sure enough, there were approximately eight tasks running (these tasks have the names of people in my tree). I noted that six of the eight tasks were the same person. Perplexed, I experimented running the program in 68000 mode (not 68030). It ran perfectly, and I then discovered that clicking on a person brings up a "person view window". You see, this window does not appear in 68030 mode, however clicking on a box will run the associated task. This is why I had so many of the same tasks running simultaneously. I quit the program, and as you suspected in your e-mail comment, all the tasks were still running (68030 mode) after quitting the program. I hope this helps you narrow down the problem. Another question; the family tree window shows as an "upper-half screen on my hi-res interlaced display. The window has a sizing gadget, but it does not work. Is there a way to have the family tree window fill the entire screen? My last question (problem) …is that I cannot get the "family.help" file to work. Although the file is in the same directory as AFT, when I press help, the requester "unable to open file family.help" appears. In spite of my difficulties, it is a very good program. I could fall back to 68000 mode every time I use it, but it would be nicer if it worked with the 68030. Best regards, Rick
