Good point; I've got three or four aging PCs that aren't in use (80286 or
slower processors). Also I've got two later-design PCS (if you count one
Bridgeboard!) in use. AND I've got *three* Amigas, ALL of which are in
use!
Someone ought to look at A1000s still in use as a percentage of original
sales. I'll bet the figure is very, very high compared to industry
average. Saab used to promote this type of statistic in its car ads. The
A1000 has survived because it was at base a pretty good computer that's
still capable of running later software and being upgraded, even after
eight years. Can't say that about most of its contemporaries. Indeed, I
know A1000 owners who aren't even considering upgrading, a fact which may
have tended to hold down repeat Amiga sales.
