Barbara, I endorse the suggestion that was made about switchboxes. I had to send my 3000 to the shop last year; they replaced a screwy video chip. Whether that had anything to do with some ill-advised plugging and unplugging of peripherals into the video port, I'll never know, but to this day I'm leery. And now, I'm experiencing strange problems with my genlock, so I may yet have _another_ video chip problem. One thing I've considered is buying parallel and DB-23 (RGB port) switchboxes, but I know all models are not created equal, and I for one would love to see an article on switchboxes in AmigaWorld.
