You made a good point about corporations depreciating the equipment. I
feel certain the example you cited is not isolated.
A friend of mine who is actually quite computer illiterate has already
gone from a Tandy to a PS/1 and now on to a 486 and can barely copy files.
He wings through MS Word pretty well, though.
All along the way, I have had my Amigas (an A1000 and an A2000) since
October 1985 and with the addition of an accelerator board and some ram, I
still feel I am nearly 100% up to date hardware-wise. I can still impress
'em with my Amiga.
