David,
As you can imagine, this thread didn't quite come out as I intended. I
will say that the preceeding discussions were directly related to the
subject, and definitely showed the controversy involved in this area.
Not to detract from the moral issues being taken on here, I'd like to ask
you a few things about the process that you used. Others that have
experience in this area may also want to contribute.
Not having seen your product, is live footage incorporated? When was this
live component made relative to the graphical content? What steps did you
take to ensure that the messages sent by the live video and the graphics
were reinforcing each other?
Were the basic items like the graphic leaders that announce each section
of the tapes made early on, say just after the script was generated, or
were they done afterward to reflect what was truly covered in each
section? Or, were they done initially, and then modified later to reflect
the content?
What was the ratio, if you can estimate, between animations and object
examples that you had previously done, and those made expressedly for this
project?
Are the LW objects that you used entirely your creations, or did you use
some generic examples that are available, say with the Toaster SW itself?
Or were they objects that were built during the Modeler segment?
Did you use any method to seperate the things that are unique to this
project from what can be called "common knowledge" techniques?
Lastly, I'd like to ask if you would undertake such a project again. If
not, why not? If so, what would you do differently? What things should
someone starting out pay particular attention to?
Thanks again for airing this in the forum, and for any information from
the above that you can provide.
Again, if anyone else has experience in this matter to share, I'm sure it
would go a long way toward helping others. Other questions need to be
asked, too. The way I figure it, the better all of our Amiga related
projects come out can have a bearing on what we as a group see in the
future. Thank you.
