Frank, Ihad the same problem when I installed my Sony CDU31. I called Creative
Labs support and they indicated there are two ways to get full sound with the
Sony interface board. First is to get an after market internal audio cable to
connect the interface board to the SoundBlaster board. The other is a standard
patch cord plugged into the audio out port on the outside of the Sony interface
board connected to the audio in port on the SoundBlaster board. For ease, I
chose the latter and did the external connection and everything works fine.
