My response did not consider the Trojan horse. I believe that it is the responsibility of every publisher to make sure that programs do not contain viruses and to check for other programs as well as possible. Discs with freeware and shareware have often given me concern, if they contain known problems, they should be pulled, or at least come with WARNING labels. I used to feel safer running stuff when I had only dual floppies and no hard drive on my system. I remember running stuff from such discs that when it didn't work like they said or did something strange, that the computer got shut down cold started afterwards. The issue of sexual material is another matter. I prefer to be forworned and want to run such stuff alone before viewing it with others. Several years ago I was doing VCR service training (1981) and had a sensual exercise sequence which was shown on the Carson show. I used the tape to demo some of the features of the deck. When comments were made out at the end of training someone strongly took offense to the tape. It was just 5 or so girls in tights exercising with legs and rear ends up shot from differnt angles. That taught me something about what to avoid in places people with differing standards are forced to be.
