Thanks Samuel (and everyone else out there!!) for your help and patience. Between this forum and thread, Computer Shopper and other forums, the information is starting to stick <g>. Kind of like the way snowflakes freeze the ground eventuallly <bg>! As I see it, the choice is between excellent piece components and bundles. I see what is available on the bundles side for the NEC, Texel and Toshiba, but there are some components which we haven't discussed on the "piece components" side. For example, if I get one of the CD-ROMs above, say a SCSI-2 controller and the PAS-16 for sound, what choices are there for speakers? Also, are there good bundles on purely CDs available, or does their inclusion in the H/W, S/W bundles make them the best choice? Finally, what a I missing?? Thanks again for your help – I think this thread has the makings of a great tutorial <g,d&rvvf>! Brian
