Bill's right. Modern SCSI drives are all capable of delivering data fast enough that interleave isn't the issue it used to be on old ST-506 drives. Also, since SCSI drives have rather extensive firmware control and elaborate "on-disk" formatting, they tend not to make control over things like hard formatting options available to users (in context, although it seems pedantic, it makes perfect sense…the issues on-drive SCSI controllers deal with are a LOT more complex than the old "interleave" era issues).
