It's not. 10baseT can actually become more expensive than thinnet. But in some cases it may be worth the extra cost. The star configuration makes cable troubleshooting much easier. There is no need for cable termination, since the card and hub/concentrator take care of that. On a strict cost comparison, 10base2 (thin net) often is cheaper, but I speak from experience when I say it's a pain to troubleshoot. I've got one building that I'm responsible for that is ideal for 10baseT. It was of course wired with thin net cable. And I spend at least one day a month up there because some idiot PARTIALLY disconnects his network cable. This of course kills the ENTIRE building. // Brian — Cruising on AutoPilot….. \X/
