Wait a while before you tell it to resume. Allow the printer's
buffer to empty quite a bit. It won't slow things down any…as long as
there's data in the buffer….it's being printed as fast as it can.
Also, some printers can be setup on what occurs on buffer full
conditions. On some…you can set a parameter that tells the printer when
to request more data…that is, how much has to be emptied out of the
printer buffer before it asks for more data from the computer. If you can
do that…set it to a fairly low number…about 1 or 2 K so that if the
buffer fills, it will only need to pause for a few seconds before it asks
for more data from the computer.
