>For those of us who missed it, can you tell us a bit about the 3.0 compiler?
BTW, in addition to my previou answer we were surpised to find out yesterday
that "AC's Tech Guide to the Commodore Amiga" new issue (vol 3. no 1) had
what I consider a glowing review. Apparently they did the review incognito
as we knew nothing about it. The reviewer discusses a number of issues
include the internal working of Comeau C++ 3.0 With Templates and his
opinion on us and the compiler. A brief quote is as follows:
"Installing Comeau C++ is a snap…. Free technical support available is
various forms… My call was returned within several hours. The person with
whom I spoke was polite and courteous, and I was satisfied with the
answers… I used Comeau C++ for six months … many small programs and
libraries.. [also] large, complex UNIX-based C++ programs that I transfered
to my Amiga. I have experienced no problems… as far as I can determine,
Comeau C++ is faithful to the spec… Problems can creep into software
during porting [but] Comeau C++ seems to be a complete port of AT&T's C++
Language System… I am entirely satisfied with Comeau C++."
This is very close to the numerous review we have received on usenet's
comp.sys.amiga.reviews (and in other places and magazines for our
non-Amiga ports.
