Hi — At the Microsoft Windows Animation Workshop in San Francisco May 14, Martin Hash (developer of Hash Animation Journeyman and Playmation) gave a half hour talk on his new role in 3D development at Microsoft. I only caught the last 15 minutes. It seems that he will be leading an effort to bring OS-level support for spline patches into a future version of Windows. Playmation is still being marketed independently by Anjon & Associates. Martin is reported to be very busy. (!) Steve Banfield, host of the conference and Microsoft's Multimedia Technology Evangelist, will be speaking at the Macromedia User Forum in San Francisco June 2 — will try to get more info from him then. I'm particularly interested in whether Microsoft will be supporting only the Catmull-Rom variant spline that (I understand) is used by Playmation, or whether a number of spline types will be supported. btw: How can I search for a specific message by number, using the CIS Information Manager for Macintosh? I'd like to read Message #44197, but haven't been able to locate it — tia for any help. jd
