I don't want anyone to get their hopes up .. but liquidation is not always the end of the road for shareholder's investments… When Rolls-Royce declared bankruptcy, I immediately bought a few shares. (No investor foresight .. I just wanted the share certificates). Turned out when they sold off the assets of the company, a HUGE amount of money was left over, which was distributed to the shareholders. I got my money back many times over. Never did get those share certificates, though. An "administrator" usually wants to sell things off quickly. He/she doesn't view the job as one that should drag on for years. A lot of stuff gets sold in bulk at relatively low prices, just to get rid of it. BUT – if two or three companies are looking to acquire a certain piece of the old organization, they could offer an attractive price. DO NOT COUNT ON THIS – it's unlikely. But it can, and does, happen that shareholders sometimes come out of a liquidation proceeding with a little money back in their pockets. –Jim
