Unfortunately, it seems pretty clear it's the worst news — it's the end of Commodore worldwide, not just the U.S., which to me means the end of the Amiga. Sales of assets/technology may happen, but I can only see them used with or incorporated into other systems or future products — none of which are likely to have any capability, or any relationship to, the Amiga. Too bad. I had a C64 around 1981, got an Amiga 1000 with 256K, ADOS 1.0 (yes, one-point-zero) in September 1985, and still play with my seven-year-old Amiga 2000. But it's been clear for well over a year that there was only a remote chance for its future. I really like the slickly-multitasking and much more efficient Workbench 2.1 on my A2000, compared to the kludgey Windows 3.1 on the 486 in-office and subnotebook machines I also have. But the ADOS/Workbench system, and the very specialized narrow-market video applications, are the ONLY things that the Amiga has really had for a long,long time. Windows (and Mac) applications — like the latest Word For Windows, Excel, Quatro-Pro, etc. etc. etc. are and have been so far beyond what the poor Amiga has ever offered that it was clear that it was at its end. It's a shame, and I'm going to miss it. –apl
