To expand a bit on Heinz Schuller's message – look at the serial #. If it's a
667 -* number, it's a "not-for-resale" copy and not upgradable. If it's a 660
-* number it should be upgradable. There may be other pitfalls, but this is a
common one. Newer not-for-resale copies have a sticker on them, but stickers
are more easily removed than serial #s.
