You'll have a tough time getting a tableful of Amiga developers to settle a bar bill, much less buy a pile of technology worth anywhere from hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars. Unless they take over Commodore's role as a somewhat even-handed maker of computers who didn't play favorites, this imaginary consortium will not be a general-purpose computer maker. They'll be a Toaster maker, or a kiosk box maker, or a set-top box-maker. What do I mean by playing favorites? I mean they'd somehow need to be able to pay for development of new features that didn't have a specific investor's schemes in mind – or the other investors have legit reasons to flee. the both of us. 🙂 I think I've got human nature and history on my side. Look at the other attempts of group-think attempted in the Amiga market: the developer's association and the shareholder's association. Where did they go, what did they do? Although I had several friends in both groups, I don't think they did much. I had plenty of other Amiga-related friends who were constitutionally opposed to those kinds of committee-minds, and their lack of participation didn't hurt them a bit. For that matter, it didn't hurt me either. Maybe it helped, I didn't waste my time on those acitivities.
