John, Now I can finally see where you're coming from, and I I can understand it. But I don't think you understood jim's intent, or you have just read in to it more than was there. Jim Drew stated that he wanted to make an effort to obtain the 'rights' to the technology so that they could be available to any developer who wnats to make use of them. I don't think he sees himself/UU bulding Amiga's… that's not his thing. But he would like to make the technology available to anyone who wants to build an Amiga clone. Wouldn't you like to see an Amiga laptop? How about a 5000T? I get the impression that Jim figures if enough people will build boxes of various shpaes and sizes, all utilizing AmigaDos and the proprietary chip set, then he and other 3rd party developers will continue to have a market for their wares. He would. You would. We all would. And you find fault in this… or worse, envision a conspiracy? Come on… if had announced his efforts two weeks from now after having time to 'carefully plot' his scheme I might be suspicious… but the very nature of his post indicated that no such plan was in the works. It sounded like a sincere (maybe naive, maybe not) plea for support. Didn't your mom ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say you shouldn't say anything at all? <g>
