"The same Haig that was pres of an american bank bought out by a certain
middle eastern banking consortium I believe; one described as a mafia clearing
house by the FBI."
I think you might be thinking of Bert Lance, one Jimmy Carter's associates. A
bank owned by Lance was the first acquired by BCCI. I don't recall Haig being
involved with any aspect of the BCCI scandal, but I didn't follow it very
closely in any event.
One thing about all these wil accusations and fantastic plans regarding
Commodore intrigues me: how many of these people alleging gross improprieties
against Gould and others were actually Commodore stockholders?
Strikes me that a lot of people are just throwing stones – and yet they never
availed themselves of the relative ease of just purchasing a share or two of
Commodore stock, gaining legal standing and even joining the "Commodore
Shareholder's Movement".
By the same token, I wonder how much and how often these mourners purchased
Commodore equipment. I get the feeling that a lot of people bought a machine
several years back and now count themselves among the "truly loyal", even
though they chose not to purchase newer machines as Commodore offered them.
Be interesting to learn the answers to these questions, especially from those
who are the fiercest at putting down anyone who doubts the survivability or
"resurection-ability" of the Amiga.
