On a positive note, I'd say that an emulator-making company would be among the
best candidates for recycling Amiga technology. If they could put an Amiga (in
essence) on one or two PC cards, or a Mac Nubus card, with a little soft switch
that lets you plop the video signal to your multisync, that would be a popular
product among Amigaphiles who've been forced to change platforms.
And there's the obvious opportunity for a mail order company to emerge as the
heir to the Amiga parts and service line. Maybe even a "used Amiga"
clearinghouse to cannibalize the machines out there already. And there's
certainly opportunities for sofware publishers to pick up existing products
with flagging support. The Disk Company did that several years ago, and now
look where Bobby Kotek is today… in profile pieces in Forbes, with his feet
on the desk, and owning a $60 game company. Now if he can only explain the
mystery connections to Steve Wynn…. 🙂
