Quantums are, in my opinion, better and faster drives, especially in the
large sizes, but they are also more expensive. The Quantum LPS series
carry a 5 year warranty, versus a 1 year warranty on the Maxtor. The newer
Quantum ELS series carry a 2 year warranty. Both companies make good
drives, but I have had quite a lot of success with the Quantums and with
the company's tech support. They get my vote.
