NEWTEK SPEAKS
What? You need a translation?
"Don't worry, be happy. Everything will be ok. Buy product."
On a more serious note….
Have you ever seen any company say, "Well, we don't know if we can make this
deal work. If you committ money, you best have some to spare, beacuse you may
need to nuy something else, if all this falls apart."?
Newtek's in a bind. The platform they have tied themselves to, may have sunk
beneath the waves, never to return. Their choices are to either say, "Amiga is
dead.", and hope that the market waits for them to finish an alternative, and
hope that he cash holds out while they do, or to tell us not to worry, and hope
that they can get by on reduced sales till the alternative is completed.
Personally I think the demise of the Amiga was a plot buy current and future
media machine producers who didn't want the competition of Newtek. The Amiga
sales were never a threat to anyone, (except Atari), while Toaster sales did
put a dent in the others.
