You're not wrong! I recently had to print out some training material from Word 6 – about 12 documents between 10 and 60 pages each with lots of tables but no graphics. After a morning when the pc was useless for anything else (forget alt tab, or reading text files or the msdos prompt). The job is still only half finished. Yes alright I was using a 386 laptop with only 4megs – but it is a similar spec to my 3K with 6megs and kickstart on disc. I am used to doing these sort of jobs on ProPage which is primitive in some ways but with the same sized files it never prevents me from working on other apps. I have come to the conclusion that Word6 is useless on a low spec machine for anything other than short documents and I dare say that other wps in that environment are just the same. Another thing that we all would miss is REXX and the extensive support it is given by Amiga software houses. DDE on Windows is not close. If the facilities offered by Amiga had been introduced into mainstream computing in the '80s we would be light years ahead of where we are now. martin wetherby yorkshire
