I bought a used Pioneer LaserDisc player from a dealer a few weeks ago. It is a model LD-V2200 that they'd had at the store for several years. They used to run Commodore's AmigaVision point of sale video off the player connected to an Amiga 2500. Also the Struggles for Justice series. The problem is, they lost the manual! So, I'm having a devil of a time trying to get it set up properly to run with my system. The player seems to be in good working order. It really works great with my V-Lab framegrabber. But I can't seem to get either Scala MM200 or AmigaVision 1.53G to communicate with the player. Scala has a Pioneer driver, though this particular model number isn't listed, I'm still hoping it might be coaxed into working. AmigaVision definitely has the driver for this model LD player. I followed the instructions in my AmigaVision and Scala manuals installing the software drivers. Everything seemed to install okay. But there are two dip swiches on the back of the LD player and I don't know what the settings should be. I've tried experimenting with my serial port settings under preferences, with no luck. My modem works fine, so I doubt there is any problem with the serial port on my Amiga. The serial cable that came with the LD player looks okay too. I really think I just need to find out the correct settings. Does anyone know how to set the dip switches to get this beast to work? Better yet, anyone know how I can get my hands on a manual? My system is an Amiga 2000, CBM 2620 accelerator with 4megs, GVP Hardcard with 4 megs 16 bit ram and Quantum 240 meg HD, running WorkBench 2.1. I have a two monitor set up. Any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Thanks, Roger C. Van Duyn // on AutoPilot
