And I also agree that budget minded customers shoot on SVHS or Hi-8 with the best camera/lens available. As a caveat however I would say that beware format changes as they can really kill what would otherwise be a clean production. In other words if you're going to shoot on SVHS, then shoot everything on SVHS and if you plan to edit it all on 3/4", know that from the outset. Yes you can break the rules and make it work but more often than not its going to cause more problems, bigger headaches and cost more as a result. -JE
