No Way to De-Flicker ?
Well I'm stymied,
Does anyone out there who has a 17" monitor similar to a Nanao 550iw have
a good flicker type card to make it work.
I had a perfectly good system for years and decided to upgrade. I had a
Taxan 770 multiscan and FFV 1. I sold the Taxan for first a Viewsonic 17
and then the Nanao. The FFV 1 wouldn't work with either of them. Thought
it was a bad FFV and got another FFV 1 from ICD. Nope same problem. Bought
a FFVII from them which was adjustable somewhat and boom the AT&T chip on
it fried in less than an hour. "Well that was the older model chip" so got
another FFVII and it lasted for about 10 hours before it was hot enough to
fry eggs on.
So, I figured I'll just get a new 24 bit board, like the Retina, and
display everything through it. Great, a bit expensive but it does seem to
do the job. Only problem, and it is indeed a problem, I can't get the
Toaster to run with it. Contacted Macrosystems. "Well the switcher display
is not display compatible. Run the toaster first from your 1084 then run
the Retina." Ok, did that toaster runs now but all the DV channels are
locked.
Is this really that big of a problem ? I'm really enjoying this Nanao 17"
for the Windows side but am getting tired of doing backflips trying to get
my Amiga up and running.
Plus, now I am likely going to lose a customer who expects a tape mailed
tomorrow after several delays already because of my hardware problems. I
may buy my Taxan back and reinstall my FFV 1.
Sinking with CBU fast,
Rocky
