Now I can just picture THAT! Actually, it is possible to have a portable that still requires AC power. Some of the most expensive (and capable) Toshibas require it. I think most of us would have been pleased to get even that – an integrated computer and screen, of reasonable size and weight, even if it required a regular cord and outlet. Or maybe with an auto adapter for running in the car. Batteries are nice at times, but not always necessary. —Betty
