Hi Elizabeth—
Sorry for the LONG delay in responding….. I tend to be REALLY slow. (A number
of reasons. A lot of typing to do, but mostly, you don't want to know….)

You betcha it is important!!!! Decomposed blasting material doesn't look like
rocks…..
>He died in the explosion.<
Well put, graphical story!!!! Another story…………… in Cobalt, Ontario.
I found a MAJOR silver mine. LOADS of dumps, lots of picking, etc. I
accidentally wandered in. The (1890 era) buildings had BOXES of plainly
labelled and filled blasting caps. Needless to say, I beat feet. Blasting caps
age rapidly!!!! NOT to mess with things that don't look like minerals!!!!! NOT
to mess with blasting caps or other manmade devices in mines. These things were
made to explode….. *I* wouldn't want to set off a case of blasting
caps……….I also TIPTOED through that area.
Explosive devices aren't funny.. LOOK OUT in mining areas. Mines need
explosives, rockhounds don't………..JD
