While I'm not Newtek, your letter did catch my eye. While some sections of Europe are infamous for pirating software, we never realized you folks were also pirating the whole darn computer. <grin> Sorry Bub, but there are not 16 million Amigas floating around Europe. The Amiga hasn't reached the 16 million mark, (of which a large percentage were 500's), let alone 16 million 2000/3000/4000 machines that could handle the Toaster. Were there actually 16 million Amiga users who wanted to buy a Toaster, Newtek would be far larger and richer than they are today. As to why Newtek has not come out with a PAL based Toaster, is unknown to me. One would tend to think the total PAL market, would equal the NTSC market, but perhaps there isn't the demand, or there may be some fatal flaw in the chips Newtek selected to use, that prohibits doing a native PAL version. (Or it could simply be arrogance, in believeing they are the only solution, and you'll take what you get.) I doubt incompetence is at the root of the matter. (Another possiblity is that as C='s position deteriorated, Newtek has been preoccupied with developing a survival plan/machine.)
