I would agree in large degree to what Charles said in replying to you,
however, in his "Step 1" I would go a bit further in marketing the CD32:
The "media blitz" against Sega and Nintendo is a given, in that there
are perhaps ten times as many "games consoles" as there are "personal
computers" (under any label) in the "consumer electronics" market; now
imagine that Samsung or whoever buys the Amiga and does this saturation
marketing, and by miracle of faith the Amiga CD32 lands about a third of
the console sales for Christmas '94, which means it will have outstripped
PC sales by a factor of three.
Now, _after_ Christmas, we just might see a _new_ series of ads for
Amiga-sama <g>, which would say, "You know that great games console you
just bought? Well, it _also_ makes a pretty-neat personal computer…."
If in fact Nintendo had marketed an "expansion interface" for the Super
NES (or Sega for the Genesis), then in fact nobody _outside_ of the direct
"business software" market would have ever heard of MicroSoft.
