Well, Thomas and Dave are both right to a degree. The GM's often made ludicrous requests for products, but it's the responsibility of the guy at the top (Ali) to sift through the good and bad ideas and pick the winners. Not an easy job of course, but Ali wouldn't know the difference between a good or bad product idea. As for Ali working hard, that is true. The guy worked an unbelievable number of hours. Get this for a schedule – it was rumored he'd have a breakfast meeting in London, hop on the Concorde so he could be in New York *BEFORE* he left London so he could have another breakfast meeting and work a full day in New York also. That's brutal.
