Ron, I find your explanation of chip names and their respective job descriptions quite helpful and extremely fascinating. Chip names that are derived from acronyms based on assigned tasks and the relationships to one another makes a lot of sense. I had no idea that was the reason for the names. When you describe the attributes of each chip it's easy to imagine a story –maybe entire adventures– to complete the picture. I'm probably not the first person to see the beginning of a whole new mythology going on here. Do all the different computer platforms have chip and ram stories like the Amiga? Are they similar or very different? What is the name of the "small board containing a 'more enhanced' ECS Agnus"? There is so much information in the above message for me to study that I'll probably have more questions steming from it each time I reread it –hope you don't mind. I can't understand why you compare the Amiga (or is it yourself) to a weasel when it's such a marvelous machine (or you –when remarkably adept at teaching). 🙂 …woman who runs with Amigas Vicki
