Michael: Well, I had a few problems with AutoPilot, and that kept me off for a while, (they were solved by tightening up the loose nut at the keyboard!) and I've been playing with my new toy a 486/66 running Windows. I gotta tell you I'd like to stick with the Amiga, but software out there for the clones is making it harder & harder! 2 of my buddies here as well as my local dealer have jumped ship almost completely, going over to PCs. One in particular within 1 week sold an A3000, an A2500, along with almost all the software he owned for them, and went and bought a couple of PCs. He still has a few things left, and I got quite a bit of excess hardware laying around here, so I'll probably be posting a for sale message here sometime soon. I still have basically the same setup as before on the PC, I just switched from running Nextstep to DOS/Windows because NS has the same problem as AmigaDOS, lack of software. My daughter is doing great, she's too smart though, she keeps me on my toes, as I can't get anything past her. One of the things I'm able to do on the PC that I couldn't on the Amiga (although I should have been, the Amiga's really a better machine for it) is getting the MPC games for my daughter on CDROM, complete with sound, etc. It really gets me really mad when I see all the neat stuff for PCs, knowing that the Amigas been able to do this stuff years ago, just nobody took the time to really write GOOD software for it. One problem I've run into (and this isn't the first time) by being one of those folks that likes to stay near the cutting edge of technology is that my CDROM drive that I've been using on my Amiga is an older Chinon that is single speed, single session, so I had to get a second CDROM for my PC. I got a SoundBlaster Pro card that has a CDROM interface right on it, and got one of their Panasonic CDROM drives hooked to it, and it works great. Supposedly a real SCSI CDROM would be faster, I don't know, My friend has a Texel SCSI CDROM on his PC, and it cost lots more than my sound card/ CDROM combo, and it doesn't run any faster. I still have my Chinon hooked up to both the Amiga & the PC, via my common SCSI between them both (like I've always had these machines connected. While talking about Amigas & PCs, do you happen to know if it's possible to read/write SyQuest cartridges that were formatted on the PC using Adaptec's EasySCSI drivers on the Amiga?
