It would have required substantially more bandwidth to do the DVEs in
color in PAL, so a PAL Toaster would have been a lot more expensive.
What I wonder about is whether NewTek will be able to survive once NTSC
starts being replaced. Admittedly, it might not be canned for a very very
long time, but it still may happen relatively soon, and there really
aren't any tricks to pull with digital streams and MPEG – a VTASC
derivative just won't be possible.
