Wayne, FYI: IM R/t will use pretty much exactly the same amount of ram in _total_ that AdPro does to load any particular image. However, IM R/t's memory management is different – we ask the system for multiple small chunks of memory, while adpro asks for one large one. This can in _some_ systems make the difference between loading, and not loading. For instance, if you have 8 megs in two four meg blocks that are not contiguous, IM can load a 6 meg image with ease – AdPro will not. The advantage to AdPro's method is speed; the advantage to ours is simply the ability to load things under tighter memory situations (and we also give the memory back to the system when you, the user, unload the image… which has it's own merit, or so we think). –Ben …via AutoPilot
