Rick, That's not all that much memory, really – depends totally on how big the area you are trying to scan. Let's say that you're scanning a 678×480 image. That's 768x480x4 bytes for the image, and 768x480x4 bytes for the undo buffer, if you use one. Which turns out to be 1.47 megabytes each, for a total of 2.94 megs. TO this you add the memory that IM takes, the memory that Metascan takes… and 10 megs might not be enough. Some scans are MUCh larger than 768×480; it's just a flick of the wrist to scan an image that would take ten megs all by itself. –Ben …via AutoPilot
