Amiga not dead!
In the U.S. there was no obsession with anything. Every time CBM spoke it
was quite clear that there was no understanding of the machine.
THe time for bridge tech passed by. In '87, the Amiga could have focused
on it and be where the Mac is today. Ports of many "business" programs to
the Amiga as there is to the Mac.
Today, the Mac and PC are invading all the Amiga niche markets en masse.
For the Amiga to survice it needs to develop conversions for quicktime,
AVI, WAV, RDI, !MV and other WInd/O/S2/Mac Multi-Media and video formats.
Otherwise, with the exception of the Flyer, you can kiss the Amiga
good-bye in MM and Video within 2 years even if the lines start up again.
And extra protection comes in the form of transferrability of some
"business" related data between Amiga and "mainstream apps". So at least
current I/O filters for WP, MSW, Lotus, excell, Access, Paradox, would
help the Amiga's life span in the professional world.
