Oh, sorry Betty, perhaps I did not carefully read what was being said. You are correct, SCSI does require power (5 volts comes to mind). In all probability, some of the drive's connectors are attached to the wrong pins of the SCSI connector. That is a common problem among SCSI drives. Another thing you might check is the SCSI address. Even though you set whatever switch is provided on the external case that does not mean the address is actually being changed. You could have a SCSI address conflict even if you only have one SCSI device attached since the computer itself has an address. Best, —GeM
