To gain access to the Toshiba drive from the Emplant side, you must be running an INIT (MAC software) for that particular drive. You can get this INIT from Toshiba. NOTE: You must disable AmiCDROM in order to use it under Emplant. FWB is a company that makes an INIT for many devices including the Toshiba drive. The software is called CD-ROM toolkit. The Check32 program only checks a flag in the resource fork of applications and is not necessarily an indicator of whether or not an application is 32bit clean.
