Andrew,
I have 2 Megs Chip Ram & 8 Megs of Fast Ram. Do I think 6 is enough?
Well I have r10 & I'm looking to get another 4 Megs. The OpalVision Anim player
is great when playing from Ram so the more ram you have thew longer your anims
can be. It can play anims from hard drives but this method tends to be slow &
jumpy.
I only have one monitor & use the opal out for all my viewing. This
tends to be flickery but I can live with it. Make sure the monitor steps down
to 15 Hzt which none of the IBM VGA monitors do. It looks great on my Sony
MultiSync.
The display speed is so fast is a non-factor. Most of the 3rd party
software makers support OpalVision. I use ADPro, ImageMaster, Imagine, &
View
tek with it. VistaPro does not directly support it but this really doesn't
matter much with a multitasking computer since it's only a flip-screen and
click on Viewtek to view your work. I have converted VistaPro anims to
OpalVision format with great results. Imagine directly supports OpalVision.
