Hi, Shannon– My geology education, such as it is, is highly informal (much of it coming from hanging around here), so I am not clear which books would be good starting points. Others here may have some suggestions to kick in. I picked up a lot from Scientific American and Earth magazines; the latter, along with some more specialized rockhound magazines, is described briefly and subscription info given in GEOMAG.TXT in this SCIENCE forum's library 12 (geology/earth science). –Doug
